Santa put bubbles in Eli's stocking, so we had to try them out! He wasn't sure what to make of them at first, but he loves a bath so much he decided to give them a try. He loved them!!!
After running errands all day yesterday I was exhausted when I got back home around 4:30, but it was time to start dinner and get us all ready for church, which means the housework still hasn't been done. And we have to leave early because I've volunteered to dog sit (kind of) for an aquaintence while they are out of town this weekend, so I had to stop by their house and meet her dogs. I'm not bringing them home with me, but going by her house a few times a day to let them out to potty and feed them. Of course by the time we got there it was 5 minutes until church started and we were late as always for church...but as I always say, "better late than never".
We had a great service as always, and it was after 9 when we got home last night, so no housework still. Mr. Wonderful is back at work for at least 24hrs again today, so once again it's all left for me. I've got to get my house under control!!! HELP!!!
Has anyone ever heard of Flylady? I really like her ideas of getting things done 15 minutes at a time, but guess what???? Today is the day she delegated for errand day, so it's not working for me...I need inspiration and motivation...

He's Home At Last!
This is my favorite picture of Mr. Wonderful. He finally made it home this morning...housework isn't looking very promising though. He and Mr. Eli are eating leftover pizza for breakfast while I'm trying to get motivated to run some errands. We live in a very small town, so running errands consists of going to another city usually, and will take several hours out of my day.
For me to stay focused on my chores I MUST stay in my pajamas! Once I'm dressed I can find 500 different reasons that I need to run to the store. I think it's because I hate getting dressed, so I don't want to waste my efforts. Kind of like when you are all fixed up, hair, makeup, looking cute (you know), and then the entire day while you are in town you don't run into a single person you know...such a waste! But if you don't get dressed, you see 500 people that you haven't seen in ages...then you come home and pout the rest of the day and vow to never go grocery shopping in your pajama pants again...and you don't! At least not until next week...
If anyone is reading my blog, eventually you will learn what most of my friends already know. I find wearing pajama pants and flip flops to buy groceries or run any errands in my small town perfectly acceptable! If it's summer just throw on a tank top with them, and if it's winter throw on one of Mr. Wonderful's sweatshirts. As long as my hair and makeup is done I even feel pretty ok with running into people I don't see often.
Sorry for rambling...just trying to get some facts about me out there, so you can begin to know me.

Mr. Eli
So, I realized that there was no picture of Mr. Eli on my page and I was looking for an excuse not to clean while he is napping...still thinking about waiting for Mr. Wonderful to get home tomorrow. I guess the guilt I was feeling from his 48 hr shift has subsided and reality has set in...He is a firefighter in a relatively small city (about 50,000), so he doesn't run constantly, and while I'm being honest...if he isn't running he's playing Family Feud on his IPhone or some other stupid game...it's not like a factory job or a job where you are constantly working. Unless there is a fire he will even sleep all night. I think I'll save all of this tornado stricken mess of Christmas bliss for us to do together...besides being a perfect couple has Sooo much to do with togetherness....well...that and the fact that I feel extremely lazy today. It's cold and HGTV and a hot cup of coffee is really calling my name!
One of the Many Reasons My Blog Is Called What It Is!
I was so happy Christmas night when my wonderful, sexy husband told me, "if you take the tree down while I'm at work tomorrow, then I'll help you make sense of the madness in the house when I get home". First let me explain that Firefighter's work 24hr shifts, so if he goes in at 7a.m. on Monday, he gets off at 7a.m. on Tuesday (fingers crossed). Monday I spent the day taking down Christmas decorations because Mr. Wonderful was going to help me clean up all of the mess from Christmas when he got home this morning. Instead what I woke up to was a text from him saying, "working 24 at #3 Luv U have a good day"...UGH!!!! I really like the overtime pay, but dang it! That means I'm up with the whole big huge mess staring me right in the face and no one to tackle it but me and Eli (and he isn't much help since he's only 1)!!! In my bath robe I stumbled out to put the trash on the curb only to realize that our front porch was piled up with boxes, so after about 5 or 6 trips to the end of the drive I finally had all of the trash out...normally Mr. Wonderful's job!
I guess I could wait until tomorrow,so that he can still help me, but then I start thinking about how unfair that would be since he worked 48hrs straight and I sat here on the computer all day.
I have proclaimed this week as my week to get organized and ready for the New Year. My beautiful daughter's are spending the week with their dad, so they aren't here to dirty up clothes and dishes...should make it a little easier to accomplish, right???? I'm not so sure since Eli follows every step I take and is currently crawling under my feet, pulling on my pajama pants, and trying to pull my cup of coffee off the table. Guess I'm going to get off of here and play with him...I mean get started cleaning. We shall see ;)

Branson Trip
My beautiful Girls on our Branson trip this past spring. We had a wondeful time and Eli stayed with his mawmaw (she's in her 80s), so the trip got cut short because he was such a fat baby when he was born that she could barely lift him to change his daiper...She needed us home :) , but what can I say, it was her idea to watch him. We went back again during the summer for school clothes, but it must not have been our destiny to shop in Branson because that trip was cut short as well. \
Being a stay-at-home mom has many advantages, but one of the disadvantages in being broke! With a new baby and driving a small compact car we seriously needed a larger vehicle, so we bought a used minivan. On our 2nd try at shopping in Branson, Tony, kept Eli. My mother-in-law, mawmaw, the girls, and myself headed out to Branson. Just as we entered the main drag the minivan died...and I mean DEAD!!!! We were in the turning lane of a VERY busy street, windows wouldn't roll down, and it was at least 100 degrees outside, so it was instantly about 200 degrees inside the van. We called a wrecker, and my father-in-law as we were stranded in the middle of the road. Long story short, by the time my father-in-law arrived and I payed the wrecker bill most of our day was gone along with most of my money! We did a little shopping anyway since we were already there. I think we made it to two stores and mawmaw was tired and ready to go home (remember she's 80ish).
Lessons learned:
1. Next time I go to Branson I am going ALONE
2. Take a dependable vehicle
Some may say that I should give up on Branson, but I'm too stubborn for that!
